Is there any documentation or example datasets that work through the Lumify UI?  I have a demo "running" and need to verify that everything is working.  The examples for each of the datasets on github seem fairly involved (requiring signing up for API keys etc.).

If there is a way to drag and drop and then process/search that would be great.

I haven't used lumify in a while, but you used to be able to just drag documents into the lumify UI in the browser and they would be able to go through the ingestion pipeline.

That being said, the project hasn't been committed to for a couple of months (and granted I haven't looked at it in a while) so I am not sure what state it is in.   A project based on lumify that is more actively contributed to is visallo at https://github.com/v5analytics/visallo.

Hope that helps!  Email me or post to the google group if you need anything else.  I would be more than happy to walk you through how to ingest any data you wish.

Thanks for the heads up.  I am working on building visallo right now!

I expected to have a text file load when I drag and drop into the Lumify workspace.  The file shows up as a question mark but does not seem to do anything with the contents (which I do not see anywhere).  I am not positive exactly what errors (or where they would be) for this issue.

The only thing I see related is below:

2016-01-13 15:14:29.721/EST INFO  [ingest.graphProperty.GraphPropertyRunner] Could not find interested workers for element 966075c0ec8140d4a1d3550ce50d60f0 property io.lumify.core.ingest.FileImport:http://lumify.io#raw

That sounds great!  It looks like your graph property workers are not working based on that error message.

How is building Visallo going?

The quickstart version compiled but did not run right off the bat.  Does it still require the cloud software stack to be installed already for that version?
Going to run it in intellij next to get more errors (nothing logging to appdata / ... / logs).

I see they list similar dependencies on the Visallo guide.

Also, regarding the graph property workers... is that an improper hadoop cloudera boot or something that Storm should be taking care of?  I noticed that on the required dependencies it was no longer listed.  Sorry I am new to cloud environment and am not sure where to debug first.

Thanks again.

Not sure.  If you figure out anything with your Visallo install or any errors pop out, can you post it on the visallo google group? https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/visallo

I am not sure about Lumify, but Visallo does not use Storm anymore.... when we were working with it, we found that it wasn't flexible enough to handle what we were sending at it.  I wrote little bit about the new process on an infographic about the new data flow here:
