There are plenty of links showing How to change your Root Password.
But  why should one change it?

In the case of ubuntu, root password is meaningless as root login is disabled by default, hence you cannot login as the root user. The only way to get a root shell is via sudo su, which I don't recommend.

Instead, just use your normal account, and use sudo when you require it.

There is no need to worry about changing your root password, if you are on ubuntu or its derivatives.
