BAUK-QE0001 – Unix Operations Analyst / Cloud DevOps

We currently have an immediate requirement for a Unix Operations
Analyst / Cloud DevOps to join our IT Operations team based in our
London, Putney offices.

What you will be doing:
As part of our internal expansion, we are looking for a proactive
individual to join our IT operations team. In this hands on role, you
will be primarily helping to architect, deploy and support our cloud
based solutions.

You should be a motivated self-learner, passionate about IT. You will
be expected to provide phone, email and face to face support to
employees and clients making good communication skills a must. This
role will provide plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and
further develop existing ones.

You will be:

Working with our development teams to understand requirements,
architecting resilient cloud environments to meet their needs
Management and monitoring of systems to ensure that issues are quickly
identified and resolved
Testing patches and new versions of operating systems
Planning and executing changes
Carrying out proactive work to maintain a high level of availability

Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a background in Unix / Linux (RHEL,
Ubuntu) with experience of the following:

One or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash etc
Cloud Computing and Virtualization technologies (e.g. AWS)
TCP/IP network administration & networking technologies
Automated deployment tools (e.g. Chef/Puppet, Salt Stack, Ansible etc.)
A strong understanding of security fundamentals
Knowledge of security configuration within cloud based environments

The ideal candidate will:

Have a strong technical knowledge with a desire to learn
Be a proactive, self-starter who is hands on and loves a challenge
Be able to prioritise workload
Have clear thought processes and troubleshooting skills
Be able to work in a small team and under pressure
Be customer service focused
Be able to articulate requirements / resolutions to customers
