Reviving the lug on the Campus

I met two enthu young guys doing GNU/Linux big way and living near our Campus. I got this mail later:
Hi,

I have been trying to reach out to BITS Pilani Goa students since I met
Sanskriti at our meeting at Cafe Prakash few months back. I was connect
to Prof Ramprasad Joshi and to day I met him along with Minto.

We discussed about 2 hours and decided to restart BITS Lug
(https://groups.google.com/group/lug-bitsgoa) activities. We have
decided to conduct a 2 day event (tentatively on August 20 and 21) to
introduce first year students to Free Software.

Looking forward to more volunteers and participation.

and he and his colleague Minto are both with Indian Pirates (they are also a political party in Kerala it seems ;-)). Let us bring them on board and begin planning for the coming semester. I want to engage first yearites in August itself. More on this later. BTW I finished my PhD (almost, waiting for some formalities) and going to stay here for three more years for sure. What next, who knows? But let us revive lug here.

We also meet up at Panjim (Cafe Prakash), and are trying to make it monthly. 

Recently, Dr Anil Seth (ex-PCC and now in Chandigarh/Goa) and others helped to launch a Britto Boys LUG at a school in Mapusa. Praveen was there too!

Great. I am sorry I have not followed up with a plan for the start of the semester on our Campus. I am still neck deep in some HiPC system overhauling work I started in the vacation. I had hoped irrationally that I will be free of it before the start of the semester.

In a couple of days I will follow up. What is the day and time of the Cafe Prakash sessions? Isn't it located near the Mandovi casino jetty?

Right, that's where Cafe Prakash is. Just adjacent to Azad Maidan.

We are a bit iffi about our meeting dates (as we wait for some interesting speaker). But will surely keep you informed about the upcoming plans, which should be soon.
