would there be a way to disable the UHWCON.1 pad regulator during USB?

Curios if I can turn off the 5 volts within a window of USB use. I do not need it down for long but if possible I'm not sure what I can do from the device end if anything, to put the USB on stadby. I'm guessing with out the pad regulation I can not communicate to the host at all?
