The Theme Slaughter round begins!

You suggested over 3000 themes! We need your help to find the best ones.

We’ve gone ahead and filtered-out the inappropriate suggestions found over weekend. The Theme Slaughter continues for the rest of the week, and we’ll kickoff the next phase for the weekend.

Announcing sponsor: Intel

We’re excited to announce that Intel has sponsored Ludum Dare 49!

Intel asked us to let you know about the Intel Game Dev Boost program. If you’re making an Indie game, or looking to expand on something created during Ludum Dare, you should check it out!

Thank you Intel for your support!

Announcing sponsor: GameMaker Studio 2

We’re also excited to announce that GameMaker Studio 2 has sponsored Ludum Dare 49!

GameMaker has been a popular development tool in our community for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to have them on board.

If you’ve never used GameMaker before and are interested, now is a great time to do it. We’ve collected some getting started resources in the blog post below:

You can get started right now for free. We’ll also be making licenses available very soon so you can export your games made for the event.

Ludum Dare + GameMaker Studio tips (video)

We also asked Shaun Spalding (ShaunJS), a Ludum Dare regular and experienced GameMaker developer to share some tips and advice for making Ludum Dare games in GameMaker Studio 2.

Thank you Shaun for doing this! Thank you GameMaker for your support!

Job Update

We’ll begin reaching out to candidates later this week/early next week to schedule interviews. Interviews will take place in early October, a few days after Ludum Dare 49 ends (*ahem* so we both have time to sleep).

If you’ve been waiting to submit your resume, please do it ASAP.

Wrapup

That’s it for now. We’ll be back later this week.
