Hi,

Can you enable USB debugging before plugging the mouse:

sysctl hw.usb.debug=15
sysctl hw.usb.ums.debug=15

Have you tried to disable legacy USB support in the BIOS?

You can also try to press CTRL+ALT+ESC and if the KDB prompt appears, enter
"bt".

Does the kernel also hang when the mouse module (device ums, ums.ko) is not
compiled into the kernel?

This problem occurred on one machine. On the second machine I deleted libus=
b1
and all ports that depended on it _before_ upgrading the base system, so it
didn't cause any problems.

So I guess that would be the "fix". It is not very difficult once you
know. And if nobody else had the same problem, you can close the PR as far =
as
I'm concerned.

Unfortunately I don't have another FE-210 but I have tried other Olympus cameras, Nikons and Canons and even other flash but none seem to exhibit this issue. Also, changing the SD card also doesn't "fix" the issue and the SD card in the FE-210 used by another camera also warrants the same errors and usability issues.

Hi,

There should be a quirks table in "sys/dev/usb/storage/umass.c" .

If you are running 8-stable, the quirks table has been moved to
"sys/dev/usb/quirk/usb_quirk.c" and is settable via usbconfig.

See the the add_quirk_vplh command for usbconfig.

Hi there,

For many years I've been happily (if only occasionally)
using an AGFA Snapscan e20 flat-bed USB scanner, using
xsane. This scanner (apparently) requires a "firmware
upload", which I had managed to arrange with this
line in /usr/local/etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf:
firmware /usr/local/share/sane/snapscan/snape20.bin

I don't know whether or not that is (or is related to) the
problem, but it isn't working any more, and I've run out of
ideas to try, so thought I'd ask here.

sane-find-scanner finds:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x06bd [AGFA ], product=0x2091 [SNAPSCAN]) at libusb:/dev/usb:/dev/ugen0.3
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

But no amount of scanimage -d spellings or SANE_DEFAULT_DEVICE
tweaking seems to make scanimage or xsane happy.
("snapscan:/dev/uscanner0" used to be what I used.)

For what it's worth, I'm running -current as of Saturday, and my
dmesg.boot says:
ugen0.3: <AGFA> at usbus0

Any suggestions?
