Section 2.3.3.1 Disk Layouts for FreeBSD/i386 paragraph 8 is shown below
You can use a commercial tool such as PartitionMagic®, or a free tool such as GParted, to resize your partitions and make space for FreeBSD. The tools directory on the CDROM contains two free software tools which can carry out this task, namely FIPS and PResizer. Documentation for both of these is available in the same directory. FIPS, PResizer, and PartitionMagic can resize FAT16 and FAT32 partitions -- used in MS-DOS® through Windows ME. Both PartitionMagic and GParted are known to work on NTFS. GParted is available on a number of Live CD Linux distributions, such as SystemRescueCD.
The 8.0 disc1.iso does not contain any tools directory. This section in the handbook needs to be corrected accordingly.
Section 2.3.7 Prepare the Boot Media. Items 1, 2, and 3 all talk about creating bootable floppies. Floppy bootable images are not provided any more starting with release 8.0. Remove all referances to floppies.

I was wondering if there are any plans for a new
print edition of the handbook? Edition 3 is
quite out of date now.
Does the freebsd project make profit on the handbook?
many thanks

Have to make corrections for no floppy install any more and add new figure for sysinstall select language of the handbook documentation
2.4.1.1 Booting for the i386™ item number 3, remove floppy from boot order and replace with USB disk or USB flash drive. Remove paragraph 2 all together.
Remove item 4. Item 5 remove part about booting from floppy.
The last line in the exit sysinstall menu remove sentence about removing the floppy.
After Figure 2-3. Selecting Country Menu you have to add a figure about the select language of the handbook documentation sysinstall is to install.

Floppy install images are no longer provided starting with release 8.0.
Slip and pppd or as its some times called kernel ppp has been removed from the base system because they have become obsolete. The sysinstall menus and text questions need to be changed to reflect this.
The main menu - fixit option says floppy. Floppy should be replaced with USB flash drive like this, "Repair mode CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive or start schell"
And this text question,
