Job Summary:  

The Java / BPM developer is a member of the project team who takes responsibility for implementing parts of the system architecture using best practices. This will include coding, unit and integration testing, using design patterns, and learning new technologies. The candidate will also be expected to provide architectural support, and advice with Business Process Management (BPM) components of the system.

Responsibilities:

·         Demonstrate ability to work with system owners, technical teams, and functional teams to design, implement, test, and validate a system.

·         Proactively work with business analysts to understand desired system requirements and write functional and technical specifications.

·         Effectively model organization business processes and integrate them with existing Enterprise systems and capabilities.

·         Model Business Process Designs (BPD’s) within IBM Business Process Management (BPM) software

·         Upgrade heritage IBM BPM coaches to BAW Client-side human services coaches views and implement error handling.

·         Design and develop new code and/or support operations, maintenance, and enhancements of existing code.

·         Develop process, business logic and process transition functionality using BAW 19.0.0.1 and/or above, Human Heritage Services and BPM UI Toolkit.

·         Analyze system code, determine dependencies and identify opportunities to make it more efficient.

·         Evaluate proposed code changes, estimate levels of effort and plan assignments accordingly.

·         Perform IBM BAW and BPM WebSphere administration – installing snapshots, configuring data sources, regular maintenance, assessing and installing product fixes.

·         Work with BPM Rest API's.

·         Convert legacy Java code to BPM.

·         Troubleshoot issue and work on initiatives by applying good analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Provide application technical support to customers/users as needed.

·         Develop conceptual and technical design including use of OOA and OOD techniques.

·         Conduct multiple levels of testing including unit, system, integration and performance.

·         Enforce system development best practices using configuration management tools (JIRA preferred).

·         Understand the relationship between BAW functionality and underlying application database operations.

·         Support Windows .NET migration/upgrade.

·         Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools are a plus.

 

Experience Guidelines: 

·         Ability to learn new technologies quickly

·         Minimum –7+ years in development and system integration

·         Minimum –7+ years of experience with Java and Java-based technologies

·         Minimum 4 - 6 years design and development experience with IBM BPM 8.5.6/ IBM BAW 19x.x.x

This position is responsible for planning and overseeing multiple technology programs from ideation to completion, including securing cross-functional alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. A client of ours is currently looking for a PeopleSoft HCM developer for a 12 month remote role plus possible extensions. This role is slated for 37.5 hours a week max. Client currently releases over 90k checks weekly and due to recent retires them are short staffed and need help. On top of the bottleneck issue with paychecks, the client is planning a PUM 43 upgrade and looking for these resources to jump in with this project work as well, not just a production support role. 

PeopleSoft Developer:
