Salesforce CPQ Solution Architect who is technically hands‑on and can design, implement, and support complex CPQ, Order, and Pricing solutions.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce CPQ, Order Management, advanced pricing models, and enterprise integrations using APIs and DMP‑style platforms.
This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, and external systems teams to deliver scalable, high‑performance quoting and ordering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
CPQ & Ordering Architecture
- Design and implement end‑to‑end Salesforce CPQ solutions including:
- Product configuration
- Pricing rules
- Discounting logic
- Quote templates
- Architect and optimize Order lifecycle:
- Quote → Contract → Order → Amendment → Renewal
- Order orchestration and fulfillment flows
- Lead solution design
Pricing & Revenue Logic
- Implement advanced pricing scenarios:
- Tiered pricing
- Volume‑based pricing
- Usage‑based pricing
- Subscription and recurring pricing
- Configure and maintain:
- Price Rules
- Product Rules
- Discount Schedules
- Contracted Pricing & Special Pricing
- Ensure pricing accuracy across CPQ, Orders, Billing, and downstream systems.
Integrations & Data Platforms
- Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and:
- DMP / Data Platforms
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
- OMS, Billing, and external pricing engines
- Build and consume REST/SOAP APIs, including:
- Real‑time and asynchronous integrations
- Event‑driven architectures (Platform Events, Pub/Sub)
- Ensure data consistency across Accounts, Products, Pricing, Orders, and Contracts.
Technical Leadership
- Act as the CPQ technical authority for architecture decisions.
- Provide hands‑on development and code reviews when required.
- Define CPQ best practices, guardrails, and standards.
- Guide and mentor developers and junior architects.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Translate business requirements into scalable CPQ designs.
- Participate in workshops, design sessions, and solution walkthroughs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Salesforce & CPQ
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- Salesforce CPQ (SteelBrick)
- Quotes, Orders, Contracts, Amendments, Renewals
- Deep understanding of Salesforce data model and security.
Technical Skills
- Apex, SOQL, SOSL
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Flows (Screen, Record‑Triggered, Scheduled)
- REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, OAuth
- Integration patterns (point‑to‑point, middleware, event‑based)
Integration Experience
- Proven experience integrating Salesforce with:
- DMP or large‑scale data platforms
- ERP / Finance / Billing systems
- Middleware experience (e.g., Mulesoft, Boomi, Dell, etc.) is a plus.
Architecture & Design
- Strong understanding of:
- Multi‑org and multi‑system architectures
- Performance optimization for CPQ
- Large data volume handling
- Ability to evaluate trade‑offs and design scalable solutions.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
