Hi all!

Let's welcome June with a Tuesday book club meeting.  I said yes to May 25th but realized that I am out of town on business that week.  If June 1st doesn't work we can do June 2nd (Wednesday).  The June book we decided on was, "Breakfast of Champions (Goodbye Blue Monday)", by Kurt Vonnegut.

Synopsis:
Set in the fictional town of Midland City, it is the story of "two lonesome, skinny, fairly old white men on a planet which was dying fast." One of these men, Dwayne Hoover, is a normal-looking but deeply deranged Pontiac dealer and Burger Chef franchise owner who becomes obsessed with the writings of the other man,Kilgore Trout, taking them for literal truth. Trout, a largely unknown pulp science fiction writer who has appeared in several other Vonnegut novels, looks like a crazy old man but is in fact relatively sane. As the novel opens, Trout journeys toward Midland City to appear at a convention where he is destined to meet Dwayne Hoover and unwittingly inspire him to run amok..

I look forward to seeing everyone!  If its nice out we can eat on the deck under the stars!!

Hi Kate and luckies - So sorry to do this, I know I am all over the
place, which is really, truly and quite sadly, the state of my work
life after wonderful vacation Ug, I am sad (did I say that?) to say
that I just got slapped with an assignment due Friday that will chain
me to my desk until then. Well, my home desk, but nevertheless, a
desk. Vonnegut would make a lot of fun of me for that.

Can I however put out there that I can host between July 12 and 23rd,
or in August if anyone is up for fun on the roofdeck?
Thanks!

Kristin
