Help! Greece to Israel

Hey everyone!

I just came across this site on the net when I was searching for a
solution for my transportation problem to get from Greece to Israel
next June. The video post in Israel is very cool. Can't wait to visit.

What I need some help with is how to get from Greece to Israel. I
noticed there used to be some shipping companies that did various
routes but they seem to have closed down in 2001!! I also found a
route by train through Turkey, Syria, Jordan etc but as a single
female traveling with another single female am wondering how safe this
journey would be? I'm sorry if I'm sounding a little ignorant but the
media hasn't painted an all too pleasant picture of the region and
there also seems to be problems getting back from Israel through Syria
if there's any proof in my passport of having been to Israel. Argh!

If ANYONE can please offer some suggestions, it would be really
appreciated!!
