I have a camera in my app and I want to make it auto focus continuously in the same way that the phone's camera does it. I found the modes FOCUS_MODE_CONTINUOUS_VIDEO and FOCUS_MODE_CONTINUOUS_PICTURE, but they are not supported by some of the HTC Gingerbread phones I'm testing on.
Running on several different Gingerbread HTC phones I don't get the continuous modes back, but I get "auto". This lets me auto focus on demand (when I call mCamera.autoFocus(null), but the camera will not refocus if the user moves the camera.
Is there a way to implement a continuous auto focus experience on these phones? When I look at HTCs camera app on these phones it does have continuous auto focus - as you move around the camera refocuses and does not keep refocusing once the picture is in focus.
For the scenario of phones without continuous auto-focus support I implemented a utility to listen to the accelerometer using SensorManager and trigger mCamera.autoFocus(...) whenever the user moves the camera.
"Digital wellbeing" tools are a big part of modern smartphones. These utilities aim to create healthier usage habits. Focus Mode is one of these tools, and it's available on all Android devices. Here's how it works.
If Focus Mode sounds familiar, the iPhone and iPad have a feature with the same name. On both platforms, Focus Mode is a sort of a spin-off of Do Not Disturb. It works slightly differently depending on the Android device you have. We'll demonstrate for Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices.
As the name implies, Focus Mode is a tool for eliminating distractions. It's similar to Do Not Disturb but less complicated and more, well, focused. You might have Do Not Disturb on a schedule, whereas Focus Mode is mostly intended to be manually turned on whenever you need a break.
The general idea is you choose some apps, and then when you turn on Focus Mode you can't open or get notifications from them. It's a simple way to quickly block out the apps that you find the most distracting. Google's implementation is very barebones, while Samsung has more customization.
Focus Mode on Google Pixel phones is as close to the "default" implementation as you'll find. Non-Samsung Android devices will be similar. First, open the Settings app and go to "Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls."
That's all there is to it. It'd be easier if Samsung allowed you to choose the apps you'd like to block, but it's the same end result. Tools like this can really help create better usage habits if you feel like your phone is becoming a distraction.

By setting up a work profile with Focus mode, you can optimize your mobile device for maximum productivity and minimize distractions. Give it a try and see how it can help you achieve your goals and stay focused.
As of about a day ago my visuals(Matrix and various charts) do not go into full focus mode on the mobile app. When I select focus mode there is a bit of space on the top about 15 - 20px(report is cut off at the bottom). When I sort the data by the various measures the visual moves further down on the screen until it disappears.
I am playing on my android phone and holding it horizontal..Is there a way to full screen the chess board....it is idiotic to show me the moves tbat were made, settings, etc while playing. I dont care about any of this. I wish to play the game. When playing on desktop mode; there is a mode called focus mode and it makes the chess board fill up the whole screen and its awesome. Please move this to the app. Again get.rid of tbe ride side of the below screen and simply have the chess board fill up the whole screen
Google believes that app timers, like those in Focus Mode, help people keep from overusing apps more than 90% of the time. You can choose which apps you'd like to pause, like Facebook and Instagram, which tend to interrupt you with notifications. But you can also keep some messaging apps open for emergencies.
Focus Mode is Google's latest feature to promote digital health, along with digital wellbeing features like Wind Down mode, which turns the screen to grayscale, designed to help you get sleepy and less interested in looking at your screen at night. Another feature filters out the blue light that's believed to disrupt sleep patterns and keep you awake longer.
Apple's iPhones contain similar features focused on helping you detox from phone overuse, which experts believe can cause physical stress from overuse and a mental dependence on devices that keep people from engaging fully in the physical world.
5. You'll notice that all of your paused apps are grayed out. If you try to open the app, a box will open that says Focus Mode is on. You can either select Settings to make changes or tap OK to leave the app disabled.
So on the desktop I manage to let my card being read out loud with TTS and then auto-advance with Speed focus mode.
But is there a way to do this/something similar on AnkiDroid? Especially the auto-advance part, but in a way that it keeps working with TTS/audio files?
Is it possible to query to determine if focus mode is on?
Usecase: I have some profiles that intercept notifications, and then regenerate them with tasker notifications. When focus mode is on, the notifications for the blocked apps still trigger the profile and that triggers the tasker notification. If I add tasker to the blocked apps on focus mode, then I cant use it as desired when focus mode is on.
Hi there. Maybe you can try using the "Custom Setting" action for that. Try using the Magnifying glass in the action with the option to automatically find the setting and see if Tasker can find it. Hope this helps! :)
As a society, we are experiencing an increase in workplace distractions due to modern technology and digital interruptions. Studies show people compensate for interruptions by pushing themselves to work more, but this causes more stress, frustration, and pressure.

Focus Mode works similarly to other time management and focus apps. You can control how you interact with your device by using predefined profiles or customizing your own. Set which notifications and alerts you receive, which apps and programs you can use, and how you deal with contacts during certain times.
Swipe down from the upper right corner of your device to access the Control Center. The Focus button appears with a small moon icon in the left column. Tapping on the moon icon will enter Do Not Disturb Mode, and tapping on Focus opens the five primary Focus options:
Here you can toggle modes on and off manually. The mode can be activated at any time by tapping its name on the button. Tapping the three dots icon on the right of the button will enable the feature for a specific length of time. You can set the mode to last for one hour, until the evening, or until you leave your current location.
The plus sign in the top right of the screen gives you access to additional modes, including Fitness, Gaming, Mindfulness, and Reading. These same modes can also be found in Settings > Focus, along with the ability to make additional customizations. You can also create custom profiles.
All calls and texts are silenced by default when a mode is turned on. Adding people from your contact list to your Allowed People list will allow them to contact you even when your mode is set. You can, for instance, allow colleagues to contact you in Work Mode or family members to reach you during Sleep Mode in case of an emergency. You can also allow certain apps to send you notifications and choose which to display or silence on the home and lock screens.
The Options menu offers even more customization choices. Focus Status sharing is an available option for all profiles. This feature notifies people trying to reach you that you have silenced notifications. In Driving Mode, for example, you can set an auto-reply for texts. Select the people you wish to automatically reply to, then type your own message.
Freedom blocks distractions across all your devices simultaneously. Your distractions are blocked across all of your devices, apps, and websites once you start a session, whether using Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, or Chrome. Adding as many devices as you like to a single session gives you complete control over your digital life.
Freedom adds to its robustness with additional features. In Locked Mode, you cannot edit your Blocklists while a session is in progress (great for those of us who might sabotage our own good efforts *cough cough*).
