Hi,

I've inherited a legacy CF/Railo project running on Apache. I need to reset the web/server admin passwords, but I'm wary of restarting the Railo service as I'm not sure if any existing files will be overwritten/replaced.

Can someone familiar with Railo tell me if this is a possibility?

Thanks.

What files are you worried will be replaced, and why are you concerned they might be replaced?

You can reset your Lucee admin password by editing the lucee-web.xml.cfm file and removing the 'hspw' field from the 'cfLuceeConfiguration' tag. The Railo admin password is reset similarly, but if you're still running Railo, you should upgrade, as Railo is no longer being supported and has known security issues.
