Feel free to introduce yourself on this topic and talk about your projects!

I'll start with me :)

So, I'm Etiene, 26, information systems / engineering student at PUC-Rio and ENSTA-Bretagne. I'm from Brazil and I'm currently living in Brest. I entered the Lua community this year and I'm the lead developer of sailorproject.org. I like music, traveling and learning new languages.

Cheers!

Hi!

I'm Erica, 22, undergraduate engineering student at PUC-Rio. I'm also from Brazil and I live in Rio de Janeiro.

I started learning Lua about a year and a half ago and I'm now working in a Lua Wrapper for DRMAA, also subject of my Final Project.

My interests include books, martial arts, photography, drawing and traveling.

Um, hi! I'm Andi, I'm a software engineer in the bay area, and my introduction to Lua is that in my free time I make video games! You can find a bunch of them at http://runhello.com. Most of them are weird or silly. For a couple of years, until about the end of last year, I did all of my game work in a game engine called Polycode, which allowed me to write engine-y bits in C++ while writing all the game parts in Lua. Lua pretty quickly became just about my favorite programming language, and I used it until what I was doing no longer matched what Polycode/Lua were able to provide.

I'm now working on designing an alternate language called Emily (because it's ML-y… it's a joke) which is highly inspired by Lua and I hope will provide a couple of the things I didn't see in Lua (clean C++ integration, types). And maybe if at some point it actually works I'll just wind up trying to roll the features into a Lua VM ^_^

I'm Lindsey I'm a ruby on rails software engineer for a remote company and I currently live in Ohio. I recently started using Lua a bit for writing games in my free time (using the lovely love2d) two of which you can see on this page  http://rarlindseysmash.com/projects (towards the bottom).

Hi, everyone!

I'm Anita, 26 years old, currently living in Paris, France.
I started studying Plastic Arts last years and now I'm trying to get transferred to English studies (Language and Civilisation). Occasionally I work as an exam invigilator for the British Council.

I have very little experience with coding (having only messed around a bit with HTML, PHP and blog-related stuff when it was cool to have a cute blog hahaha) so, hopefully, I'll get the hang of this quickly :)

Hi everyone!
I'm Kelly, 20, biology student at UGA. I'm currently living in Georgia (USA). Once I graduate, I'm hoping to do something in marine biology or possibly plant biology. Outside of school, I work and spend/waste a lot of time online doing various things. I love my cats, weird lipstick colors, funky fashions, tattoos/piercings, and memes, among many other things.

I don't have a ton of experience with any programming/coding languages but my friend recently taught me a bit of Python and I'm really excited about this project! :)

Hello ! I'm  little late, sorry...
Well, I'm Ana Carolina de Lima Pereira, 28, veterinary student at UFRGS. I'm about to graduate, but I don't want to be a vet anymore. I work in a social project from Rockefeller Foundation, as a kind of journalist, and I love it!
I don't have much experience with code, but I've already try Ruby on Rails and I'm very enthusiastic of IT, especially for girls, that's why I wanna learn Lua.
My OS is Windows 8.
I love cats, cooking and books. I'm allergic to gluten. And I'm sorry for my english :)

Hi! Sorry for the SUPER late reply, I've had a busy week... I'm Crystal, 28 years old, from Michigan in the United States. I studied Linguistics in university, and currently I'm teaching English as Second Language. I love all kinds of languages whether they're natural or programming languages. :) (There's a lot of interesting similarities with them too! Although at least with natural languages we don't have to worry too much about efficiency or how much memory we're consuming. :P ) I have some background in programming - a little Java and C++ in high school, a little HTML/PHP web design stuff, and a Python-based intro game programming class in college. I want to get more programming experience because I love games and would love making them, and also possibly trying to create language-learning apps to help people studying English or other languages! Looking forward to working together on this! :D

Hi everyone! I'm Helena and I'm from Brazil. I'm 20 years old and I'm a math student. I met Etiene because I was also living in Brest for one year, but now I'm back to Florianópolis. I'm sorry to say that I don't know the first thing about programming hahaha but I'm really excited about learning with you!

Hi, I'm Soni! I'm 17, probably the youngest here... I'm from Brazil and I don't feel like being more specific. I met Lua through a Minecraft mod (computercraft) and I like abusing varargs as a (nil-safe) stack http://sprunge.us/CGCT. I'm nonbinary (probably the only one here...), and I like computers!

I feel awkward being different... .-.
