Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a free tool I built that might be useful for Lua developers and the broader community.

It's called Ptero – a free AI chat platform that gives you access to multiple AI models in one place. No signup needed, no limits, and completely free.

Why it might be useful for Lua devs:
• Get help debugging Lua code
• Generate boilerplate functions and modules
• Ask for Lua best practices and optimization tips
• Compare different approaches to solving problems
• Brainstorm architecture for game dev or embedded systems
• Learn Lua faster with instant explanations

Why I built it:
I was tired of creating accounts everywhere just to test different AI models. I wanted a single, clean interface where I could switch between models instantly – especially when working on Lua projects, debugging, or learning new libraries.

Key features:
✅ No signup needed – just open and start coding
✅ Multiple AI models – compare different responses
✅ Completely free – no hidden fees or limits
✅ Great for debugging, code generation, and learning

Try it out: https://ptero.pro/

I'd love your honest feedback. Is this helpful for Lua development? What features would make it better for the Lua community? What models should I add next?

Thanks for checking it out! 🙌

So, from the sales pitch with "completely free" and "multiple AI models", I assumed I'd find a software download that'd run AI models on locally-available GPU/NPU resources, but this seems to be "in the cloud." Does that mean you're operating this at a loss?

I've personally not yet looked into any options, but they certainly exist: https://www.google.com/search?q=run+ai+locally

Just in case, from Spain, minutes ago:

<!DOCTYPE html>
...<title>Acceso bloqueado</title>
...<div class="message">
Por causas ajenas a Vodafone, esta web no está disponible
...</html>

( For reasons foreign to Vodafone, this web is not available ).

Being sunday, game in progress IIRC, it normally means indirectly
blocked by the LFP mafia, but you may want to check it for other
reasons.

at least with Firefox, I'm greeted by a "accept terms of service" checkbox, but the both the "terms of service" and "privacy policy" are not real links, they're JS buttons that make the respective terms appear *in the background*, so they're unreadable.  (behind a transparent grey curtain, partly covered by the box itself, and can't be scrolled), so I can't read the terms to "agree".  at least not without opening the resultant DOM.

This is the crap you get when you vibe-code your whole app. I'm so sick and
tired of this sort of AI slop, the crypto bubble was a nice containment for
the tech bros who have now invaded our spaces...

Yeah, I feel your pain. Feels like tech bros are grown-up script kiddies.
