My dream is to be able to build backend applications in Lua, but the most viable solution so far (with real success cases) is the Lapis framework.
If you’ve ever tried to build something with it, you know how tricky it can be to get everything properly set up and running, especially when you compare it with the ecosystem and tooling of other languages, like Express or NestJS in JavaScript, or Laravel in PHP.

So I decided to solve this problem (or at least start the journey).

I’m building Crescent Framework, inspired by Laravel and NestJS, with the goal of being as plug and play as possible, providing everything you need out of the box.

It’s still in an early stage, but it has a lot of potential:

You can already build REST APIs and use an MVC architecture.

It would be amazing to see something similar to what Ruby on Rails did for Ruby happen in the Lua ecosystem.
Am I dreaming too big?
