I am very new to LTSpice (I just installed it today) and I have a very
basic question regarding it.

How do I change the threshold voltage of the default NMOS (or PMOS)
device from the gui? I tried right clicking and also looking at the
menu commands but I was not able to figure it out. Could someone tell
me how to do this? Thanks.

Hello,

First:
The NMOS/PMOS require a model statement which you have to supply.
If you are looking for board level mosfets you can select one from the
list.
The model parameters can not be changed in the schematic entry.

Second:
The correct place for such questions is:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/LTspice/

This group is about the VDmos program and BodeCAD program that Colin
has made.

Third:
Before asking this question on the yahoo user group I would recommend
reading the help file first!!.
Also try a message search and read the FAQ of the group AND the help
file.

The MOS model files is located under C:\Program Files\LTC\SwCADIII\lib
\cmp\standard.mos. You can either open it with SwitcherCAD or edit it
with a text editor.

In response to your Second and Third:

I am using Google Groups. And I figured this was a nice place to ask
the question since over here, the group is called "LTSpice -
SwitcherCAD III": http://groups.google.com/group/ltspice

And I am not able to not see an FAQ list on this site.

From what I understand from the title "LTSpice - SwitcherCAD III", I
do not think it has anything to do exclusive to "VDmos program and
BodeCAD program"

In response to your "First", it would have been nice if you had showed
an example of the model statement. I figured that would have answered
the question I asked and have made your post actually useful!!

As for those that might end up on this page searching for the same
issue......

I found the answer in the last 4 pages of the LTSpice guide
http://kom.aau.dk/~hmi/Teaching/LTspice/restrict/LTspicedoc/LTspice_guide.pdf
