UPDATE (8/6/22): I guess TNT has stated that they have officially disabled flash on their end as part of their remedy to the recent security breach. This statement was made on a board somewhere by a TNT member and I am currently working on finding it so that I can take screenshot of it. I am sorry everyone, this is very unfortunate news.

So i went to www.adobe.com and downloaded the flash player, but when trying to install it it did not work i saw it was running in the task manager for a short while then it disappeared and when going on youtube it was the same upgrade your adobe flash player message.

Yes, i downloaded from your link, and I read the other thread as well. Firefox add on tab pops up and the "Plugin finder service" for firefox keeps saying failed for this version of flash player and asks me to manually install from the Adobe site.
Also start firefox from the command line, you might see errors. Example is running a x86 flash player in an x64 browser(not os) and vice versa. From the command line (%> firefox) you should see the plugin initialization log lines. (maybe try this one first :P)
Also anything in /usr/lib/... is owned by root so you would have to sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugin where .../firefox/plugin points to the location of the firefox plugin directory.
Have you tried updating flash via adobe flash update application(not firefox) Link: as for the redirect issues try creating a new user profile sounds like u got some malware -us/firefox/addon/profileswitcher/
For those looking for where to put the plugin file in Quatnum, the correct location has now moved under browser so, supposing you have installed your personal copy of firefox in /home/yourname/firefox the plugin file needs to be put in the directory /home/yourname/firefox/browser/plugins/The directory will not be there if no other plugins have been installed so create it and copy the libflashplayer.so there
I have the last firefox version that supports flash v.84 but haven't been able to get flash to work on it even though i have downloaded 10 different versions of flash player, pls help.
