SNAP Benefits & Business Operations of the LDSS

Good Morning,

Just wanted to reach out and clarify that the LDSS continues to accept and process all applications and recertifications for the SNAP program. It is critical that customers continue to submit paperwork or apply as though there are no changes or pause in benefit issuance. This will ensure their case remains in an active status with the correct benefit amount or it will allow customers to complete the application process to get their case in an active status. If the case is active when the issues with the government shutdown are resolved, benefits can be issued to the EBT card and they can be used. If they wait to apply or allow their case to close, it will delay their access to needed benefits because of having to complete the application process. 

I have attached communication to all current customers that explains our business process is unchanged despite the inability to issue benefits.

Please help share this information as there may be confusion or misunderstanding among current recipients, potential recipients, and community members alike.
