The Columbia Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (FWCO) has a diverse team prepared to assist with sportfish, native fish, imperiled species and invasive species assessment and management throughout the rivers of the Mississippi River Basin and is recruiting a permanent GS-0401-12 Biologist to lead a key portion of the FWCO’s biological program with a substantial focus on Invasive Carp partnership activities in the Missouri River Basin.  If you have strong leadership skills, clear communication style often associated with public speaking, are an attentive listener who is skilled in facilitation, negotiation, and critical thinking as you work as part of team on complex issues, this position may be a perfect fit.  Come join us!  As a GS-0401-12 Biologist, your duties may include the following:

  • Foster and coordinate diverse interjurisdictional aquatic species focused partnerships.
  • Develop and manage grants and reimbursable or cooperative agreements.
  • Serve as a member of the station management team, supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Develop, oversee, and conduct fisheries management activities and research.
  • Provide day-to-day work oversight and training for assigned employees working on field and laboratory projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise related to biological studies of aquatic invasive species, including technical guidance and training to staff and external partners.
  • Report results of various aquatic investigations orally and in written form.

Salary

$82,830 - $107,680 per year
