Hello Dr. Kaller:

I hope you are doing well. I graduated from the RNR program in May 2019. I currently work for the Department of Land and Natural Resources on the Big Island of Hawai’i as a supervisor of a fencing crew. Our main project is building a 2000ac 6’ ungulate proof fence at 6000’ elevation to eventually reintroduce the Hawaiian crow (‘alala).

We currently have a four person team and are in need of a temporary field assistant (20 weeks) with the potential to move on to a permanent position. The job is mostly fencing and includes: chainsaws, atv/utv, helicopter opterations, hiking, camping (often), and firearm use. If you know of any former or current students that may be interested in the position would you please pass job opportunity on?
