Position/Title: Wildlife Manager 1 – Fisheries

Agency/State: Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Carroll County

Responsibilities: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is seeking to fill a Regional Fisheries Manager position listed under the WILDLIFE MANAGER 1 Class based out of McKenzie, TN. The selected candidate will inventory aquatic organisms and measure specific physical and chemical characteristics of sampled streams over a 25-county area in West Tennessee. The Wildlife Manager 1 manages regionally stocked winter trout fisheries, warm-water river and streams fisheries for various sport fish, and assists the reservoir, habitat, and invasive carp crews with data collection responsibilities. Duties include monitoring budgets, assisting with fisheries policy development, and conducting activities related to stream, reservoir, habitat, and invasive carp. The Wildlife Manager I also assists in developing partnerships with local state and federal agencies and represents the program in various settings. The program scope of work includes monitoring/inventorying sport fish and non-game populations, aquatic nuisance species surveillance, enhancing access to fisheries, improving habitat, surveying anglers, conducting outreach programs, and improving fishing opportunities. Responsibilities: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is seeking to fill a Regional Fisheries Manager position listed under the WILDLIFE MANAGER 1 Class based out of Crossville, TN. The selected candidate will coordinate and assist with regional stocked and wild trout fisheries, evaluate aquatic organism passage in streams, and assist with management of small impoundments within a 24-county area in Central and East Tennessee. Position/Title: Wildlife Technician 2 – Fisheries (Buffalo Springs Trout Hatchery)

Agency/State: Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Grainger County

Responsibilities: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is seeking to fill a Fish Hatchery Technician position listed under the WILDLIFE TECHNICAN 2 Class based out of RUTLEDGE, TN. Buffalo Springs Trout Hatchery produces approximately 90,000 lbs. of rainbow trout annually for 30 different water bodies from small streams and lakes to larger rivers, reservoir tailwaters, and reservoirs. Additionally, the facility provides fish to two other hatcheries for rearing. The selected candidate will be responsible for an array of duties including the daily cleaning of fish tanks, daily feeding of fish housed inside and outside the facility, loading and stocking fish, moving fish around on site, monthly fish inventories, weekly water quality monitoring, grounds and facility maintenance, and the routine maintenance and operation of an array of equipment such as tractors, mowers, UTV’s, generators, etc. The Wildlife Technician 2 is responsible for assisting the other technicians with these duties and ensuring they are accomplished accurately and routinely. TWRA has multiple Fisheries openings across the state including 2 Stream fisheries managers and 1 trout hatchery technician.  The Streams Manager positions are located on Cumberland Plateau based out of Crossville, Tennessee and the other is in West Tennessee near the Tennessee River in McKenzie, TN.  The opening for the hatchery technician at one of our trout hatcheries located in Rutledge, TN.
