Untreatable: Report by CDC details today’s drug-resistant health threats
Landmark report ranks threats, outlines four core actions to halt resistance

Every year, more than two million people in the United States get infections that are resistant to antibiotics and at least 23,000 people die as a result, according to a new report issued by CDC. The report, Antibiotic Resistance Threats in the United States, 2013, presents a first-ever landmark report of the burden and threats posed by the antibiotic-resistant germs that have the most impact on human health.   Supporting communication materials include a CDC press release, CDC Director’s video, and a digital press kit.

Today at Huffington Post, CDC Director Tom Frieden, MD, MPH  posts Will the Medicine Cabinet Be Empty When You or Your Child Need Life-saving Antibiotics?  and Steven L. Solomon, MD discusses the report in a Medscape interview
