My name is Joel Foreman and I am the Golf Course Superintendent at Pikewood National Golf Club in Morgantown, West Virginia. I have listed the link to our video for our internship program at Pikewood National Golf Club along with a video detailing the history of Pikewood and showing why Pikewood is truly the greatest walk in golf. We take enormous pride in our internship program at Pikewood National and strongly feel that if a student gives the effort, they will receive far more in return. At Pikewood National Golf Club we love giving our interns challenges that prepare them for their next job opportunity and ultimately challenges that will instill true leadership qualities. Throughout the summer at Pikewood National Golf Club we instill curiosity, knowledge, hard work, attention to detail and most importantly passion in their work. I take personal responsibility to assure each intern couples your institution's educational programs with real world experience and real work experience that can only be found in a field setting. We have helped place former successful student interns at elite courses that helped further their career development. Also, past interns have continued their career goal of becoming a golf course superintendent by joining the Pikewood Turf Crew as assistants-in-training or assistant superintendents. My goals for summer student interns are to learn from the experienced staff, develop their knowledge base and to return to school with a sense of accomplishment. Once you work at Pikewood National Golf Club, you will become a part of a family that you can always return to and a family that will want to propel your future in the turfgrass industry.
