Job Overview: As the merchandise buying intern for JustFab Footwear, you will be responsible for assisting the Buying team in making effective business decisions on a daily basis through competitive research as well as quantitative data analysis of sales performance. Attention to detail, strong communication skills and strong analytical skills are a must. During this internship you will learn how to interpret sales data in order to make effective business decisions as well as develop an understanding of the buying process from design concept to physical selling product on the website.
What You Will Learn:
- Work closely with the footwear merchandising team to manage samples for current and future launches
- Unpacking samples for brand room set-up
- Assist in managing check-in/check-out process for brand room samples
- Set-up & break-down of brand room
- Market Trend Research
- Monthly competitive research to ensure we’re keeping up with the latest trends
- Buy Sheet Maintenance
- Working with Merchandise Coordinator to update footwear reference sheets utilized by cross-functional teams to keep track of monthly launches
- Preparing weekly selling reports
- Assist Buyer in preparing weekly selling reports to distribute to cross-functional teams
- Assortment Meeting Set-Ups
- Assist buying team in setting up samples and printing reports for major milestone meetings
- Additional ad hoc projects and responsibilities as required to support the Buying Team
Qualifications:
- Takes initiative
- Detail oriented
- Strong retail math skills
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially with high proficiency in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal communication
- Partnering with merchandising team to manage priorities and deliverables in a timely manner
