Dear all,
The long and hot summer is about over (hopefully), and the new
semester is starting. Hope you all have had a restful, enjoyable and
successful summer. I have traveled to Asia (China, Taiwan and Hong
Kong) and Europe (7 countries), and ready to stay home for a while.
First of all, congratulations to Professor Beilei Ge. Her research is
being reported on LSU's home page, front and center (http://
www.lsu.edu/departments/gold/2011/08/bacteria.shtml). Please check it
out if you have not see it yet. It is fascinating.
Please encourage your new Chinese colleagues, if any, to contact me so
I can add them on to this list. Or, anyone who is not currently on
this list and would like to be add to the list. Last time I count, we
have about 80 Chinese professors and professionals on LSU campus.
And last, I suggest we meet for lunch at the Faculty Club (http://
www.lsudining.com/faculty-club/) next Wednesday (August 24) at 12pm.
Please let me know if you would like to come. We might need to reserve
a larger table if many are interested.
Welcome to the new semester and wish you a happy & successful new
academic year.
