I served onboard The Lady from 82 - 85. I was a Radioman back then. I left the navy in 1992. Missed it, so came back in 1999, retired from the Reserves as an IT1 in 2009. It was great and at times not so great, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I miss serving, but my time has come and gone (21 years total). What about you?

Hey Eric, what's been going on? I left the Lady in 1985. That was 24 years ago! Man does time fly. Last time I saw Smitty G was about 8 - 10 years ago. You remember Ronnie Williams? What about Broughton? As much as I hated to, I just had to whoop Broughton's a-- everyday because of his stupidity. Always wanting my wife to open the door so he could go in and drink his beer! Alot of people couldn't understand why I whooped him everyday, well at least now you know. You remember RM1 Carter? I will always remember him cause he stuck his hand down a toilet to break up a log someone left in there. Nasty!!! I've always wondered about the people we served with. Hey you remember Eubanks QM3 or OS3? He had that real pretty wife, they were both from L.A., well they divorced. Me, still married, a grandfather twice, and a third due in December. Life is great. Let me know how things are out there...

I remember a whore house on # 17 danube st. in Edenburg that I saw Lt. Bailey the ships enginering officer and the Captain at the time (forget his name but was a Lt. Comander) coming out of with smiles on their faces! I had a good time with one named Ann. $15.00US as I recall. SA C.W. Dunn tried to pay the old dried up Madum

for a hump but she would not go for it. The Kennedy got to the girls first and by the time we got in they were all used up-know what they say, any port in a storm!----- Original Message -----

Maybe you need to think about what you are writing, and who may be reading it, before you divulge about whorehouses etc.
Thanks.

Good point!  I completely agree! Some people really have the nerve. No matter what we've experienced on Unitas, most of us know when and how to say what we experienced. The rest of you, thanks for just making us look like animals!!!!

Bob, what are you trying to do? Is this some sort of vengeance you’re seeking? Come on man, have some respect for our shipmates and keep your big mouth shut unless you have a good story to tell that doesn’t involve calling someone out and potentially running their lives. THINK before you speak; or shall you ever be silent !!

Bob, Ditto Pete's response. Although that was many years ago, some folks can still find your tale incriminating and inappropriate. THINK before you speak and consider who may read this. This thread came from a thread asking if anyone knew a Marine. So these email threads can spin off in many directions. I am sure, I hope, that your statement was said in a reminiscent way and not to incriminate, but just be aware of the typed words. They can never be taken back and even long from now, will always be available and subject to someone's interpretation. Said my piece, done with it. Jim

Well put Jim. Bob, I too, want to believe you meant it in a reminiscent way because this seemed really out of character of you. Pete
