Meeting w/ Prof. Hoole on Nominations System - Wed 11 March, 2020 @ 11am

HI Everyone, 

We had a meeting w/ Prof. Hoole at the request of Mr. Mapa Bandara, Additional Commissioner at EC, and demoed the Nominations system in training environment. 

We ran through:

• Create Election Template and explained the configuration of the election, done in advance by high-level EC officials
• Election Template Approval, one in advance by high-level EC officials
• Call Election
• Call Election Approval
• Security Deposit Payment 
• Create Nomination 

Due to time constraints, we were unable to demo Nomination approval. 

Prof. Hoole had the following feedback:

• He would like a default larger font size. We will make this change in the system. 
• He mentioned that the system "seemed competently done"
• He suggested that we hand over the system to the IT heads in the district via EC officials, and ask the IT folks to brief the District Asst Commissioners. 
• He mentioned that he is not aware of the decision regarding security deposit payment amounts, and who needs to pay them for the Parliamentary Election. He mentioned that he believed that the decision was taken without his knowledge. 

During the course of the meeting, Prof. Hoole did not voice any reservations. 

We will be sending Prof. Hoole a training environment link and user guide hard copy for perusal at his convenience.
