positional error indicator

Is there currently an extra argument that can be added (much as you specify what the spatial indices or primary key is, in those cases its necessary though) to specify which column is positional error? My use case is that I would like it so that the user can optionally indicate which column is the positional error column. In my code rather than referencing it by the column name I would refer to it as the column marked as the positional error. If this doesn't exist, where might I look at add this?
