Has your organization made any changes to IT spending during this
economic downturn?

I see many companies putting off major IT expenditure. One company I
know has outsourced their entire IT department to IBM to reduce fixed
operating costs and overheads.

Yes, my company was quite badly hit by this economic crisis.
But in order to better support our Logistics infrastructure, so as to give existing customers higher quality service. At the same time, strategically stronger than our competitors in competing for new customers. We spent hundred thousand of dollars in upgrading our ERP system. Making it stronger and more reliable.

This upgrade is as well preparing us, when the economic recovered. We reckon we will be well ahead of our competitors, as they are just preparing to boost their infrastructure to cater for the big jump.

Lastly, I thinks that, it depends on individual industrial/trade in making such capital expenditure. Careful research and planning are required in order for not wasting of resources, whether under good or poor economy.

Thank you.
