Hi Shailaja,
I have just completed the Bachelor in Management (Logistics & Supply Chain) in Dec 08, from University of South Australia, conducted in Singapore by APMI.
Are either of the courses you recommended suitable for me?
Or is there other courses which are more appropriate for me?
Thanks for your advice.

At the moment, I am working as an Assistant Material Controller in a Japanese firm. Are with them for almost 9 years already. As they are keeping smaller work force. My section reports to the Administration Manager. Therefore, my duties covers from shipping to material control to sourcing of new suppliers.
We are in the Semi-Conductor industry. Though our business gets a nose dive in December 08, we are now back to somewhere January 09 level. I would put it as a fast recovery for us, hopefully it is able to hold at this stage if not better.

Rgds,
Lee

William,

I think the next step for you would be a Masters degree.

One example would be the Masters in Supply Chain Management from the
University of Wales conducted in Singapore.

The news that your company's business improving slightly is good to
hear. We hope more positive news will be something we can look forward
to as all of us will be effected if the global economy does not
improve soon.

Shailaja,

I think a more international qualification would be more beneficial
and allow us to complete on an international market place.

What do you guys think?

Hi ED,
thanks for your suggestion.
Now, in fact I am thinking of a change of working environment and career. After I had finished half of the BMGT modules, I felt that my present job was too confine to an area. I need to go out and excel myself from what I have learned. Because I am taking a free interest loan from my Company (no borne required) for this degree course, I should contribute to their kindness, which I did by bringing down their logistics cost by 40%, over the last year. I myself felt happy as my contribution do help the company to bring their finished product costs down. I still thinks I should work a few more years, maybe in another sector, so as to see clearly my career path, then decide on a Master program. As I think my experience is not enough, for my to complete the Master program, the thesis is a big hurdle.

Yap, more good news would bring Consumers confidence index higher. With the low low price of electronic products on sales, it would generate more sales with a better index. This is the weakness sector at this moment. Let hope the quarter result for April to June would be a juicy one. Cheers!!

Take care.
