Hello everyone! We should probably start off with introductions of ourselves, our study/testing experience, and our goals.

About me:
  • I go to school in Virginia
  • I'm a first semester junior
  • I'll be applying to schools for Fall 2015
  • I have not taken an official test, but I have done two diagnostic tests under test day conditions. Both of those were scores of 158.
  • I'd love to get to a 170 plus, though I do know that will take a lot of work
  • I've got the PowerScore Logic Games and Logical Reasoning Bibles, and will be following LSAT Blog's 7 month study schedule to help give my studying some structure.

I'm looking forward to studying with you all!

Hi everyone. I did my undergrad in political science at Texas Tech, and graduated in 2010. I'll be finishing up my MBA this August, and I've worked as a radio news anchor and government reporter since February of 2007. I have not taken any preptests yet, and have instead just began getting to know the Powerscore books. I'd love to make a 170 or so, but I would be fairly satisfied with 165 or above. I'll be applying for Fall 2014, and would really like to attend Texas Tech School of Law. I'll also apply to Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, St. Mary's in San Antonio, and as a last resort, South Texas in Houston. My undergrad GPA isn't great, so I need to do well on the LSAT to get into Tech.

Looking forward to working with you!

Hey Guys,

I graduated from Emory University in 2011. I found a job as at a Google Apps Reseller doing tech support after my first lsat, which I took in Oct '11. The first time around, I bombed it... Test anxiety and had to go to the bathroom in between a section =(... I decided I was sick of studying for the lsats(HUGE MISTAKE) and went out for a job. Worked for 10 months, decided I'd get myself back into the LSAT gear as I hated working at a desk in a field I didn't have too much interest in. I restudied from Nov'12-Feb '13 and again fell short of my average and this time by 3 points. I'd been averaging 158-161 for both my first and second time studying for the lsats. I've gone through the Bibles ages ago and am currently re doing the manhattan lsat RC book bc its my worst section. As my 3rd and final time around, I will be retyping up ANY LR question I get wrong, write out an analysis, and why or why not answer choices are correct.

If you guys would like/need, I'd be more than happy to share a folder in my google drive with yall---it has all the PT's as well as kaplan explanations for ~95% of the tests.

I feel as if I've pretty much exhausted my studies for the lsat, as I've run out of all new PT's except for PT68 which I have saved incase I'd have to retake. I'm VERY hopeful/confident that this study group will finally help keep me over my average hump on my last go. Someone on reddit has decided to help me out with a guide for Oct test, so i don't think i'll be rushing for June's test.

@Tiffany - May i ask what 7 month guide you are referring to?

Hey Paul!

I would love to have the PT explanations you mentioned. That's one of my goals with this group- sharing our resources so we can build off of each other.

I have the 7 month version of these study schedules: http://lsatblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/daily-lsat-study-schedules-plans-guides.html

It pretty much requires the PowerScore Logic Games and Logical Reasoning Bibles to complete it, as well as the PTs (which is more obvious though). I can put up the first few days schedule to give everyone an idea of what it's like, if anyone is interested.

Edit: I looks like there is a retake version of the study guides as well, though I wouldn't know anything about it. I do know the opinion on these study guides is usually pretty split. Some find them useful and some don't. Honestly though, it's like that with any kind of course. Everyone has different needs, so some people love a program while others don't.

Hey guys! Sorry for the late introductions you guys were probably all sleeping while I was awake!

So my name is Yagana and I'm in my final semester of my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne in Australia. I'm hoping to take the LSAT in October after realising I really wanted to study Law! My gpa is okay but I'm hoping to get really high on the LSAT so that it will all look great. My university is the only one in Melbourne which requires the LSAT as a perquisite. I've gone through the Logic Games Bible which I found very helpful and nearly have gone through the Logical Reasoning Bible. I'm also doing as many prep test questions as I can daily!

It's nice to have people we can discuss things with the LSAT isn't a big thing here like in America!

Looking forward to it! :)

Sorry I'm so late in posting to this, just got back from vacation.  I'm Andrew and I graduated from The University of Virginia in 2012.  I'm currently waitlisted at UVA Law but, barring something completely insane happening, it is going to be a ding.  So, with that being the way it is, I'm looking to sit for the exam again in October and apply for the 2013-2014 cycle.  Target schools are H,Y,S, Columbia, and Virginia; I know that I have a 175+ in the tanks, it's just going to take a bit of work to get there.

I'm currently half of the way through the LR and LG Bibles and supplementing them with the Cambridge drills by type.  Once I'm done with those two lovely books, I'm going to take another PT.  After that, I'm going to go through the Manhattan books and supplement those with more Cambridge drills.

If you guys haven't taken a look yet, I'd recommend poking around the forums top-law-schools.com.  While many of the contributors can be myopic in scope, it has definitely changed my perspective from "just get something good enough" to "give this test the time and effort it deserves and master it".

Looking forward to shared thoughts and general LSAT banter on this group!

Hey guys I'm recently new to this group, my name is Justin. I go to the University of Oregon and will be graduating June of 2014. Right now I am using the 2012 Princeton Review for the LR and RC sections of the exam and Powerscores LG Bible for the LG portion. As of now I am currently trying to master the LR section which is coming a little slower than I would like but I am definitely making progress. Some schools that I am looking into are Penn St., Pitt, Duquesne and Lewis and Clark. I am looking to score a 170 but I very much am going into it with the sort of attitude that Andrew has mentioned to put the work and time into the exam in order to master it.

Cheers guys, hope the prep is going well.
