One quick note: I've been lucky enough to be on an NSF review panel twice and one of the clear take-aways I've learned is that the NSF staff are the people that actually decide who gets a grant no matter the recommendation of the panel. Consequently, any chance to meet and talk with them is valuable and one that I don't want to pass up given my likely desire to apply for these grants soon.
