I wanted to forward this email to all of you in case you haven't received it. Phillip and his family are going through some rough spot with their son Lyova being in the hospital. The School of Ed is collecting contributions for a gift for Phillip. Even if you can't contribute, it's good to be aware of this and you can keep positive thoughts for their situation.

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, Phillip's little son has been battling a serious illness that
results in him being in Children's Hospital regularly, and possibly even
over the holiday season.  Some of us were thinking about how we could help
Phillip and his wife.  A couple of people had the good idea of collecting
donations for a Wheel Deliver gift certificate (the company delivers meals
to home or hospital from a variety of local restaurants) and ITunes card
(his son enjoys movies and music on his I Pad).

I am not sure who knows Phillip and his family, but I though I would begin
this "campaign" with you, in the hope that you do know them and would
forward this email on to others who may want to contribute.

Jennifer Bates in the Dean's office will collect the money, and I will buy
a card for you to sign when you drop it off.  Thank you, Jennifer.

We will give the donations to them when we think we have reached the point
where everyone has gotten the word.  It would be nice to finish this
before we all leave next week, but that may not work out, because everyone
is busy.

I do hope this works.  They surely have been through an ordeal, and more
challenging times lie ahead.
