Mini MakerFaire Pittsburgh (and the opening of MakeShop!)

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Next Sunday, October 23rd, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh is hosting the first Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire!  

With over 75 makers scheduled to showcase their crafts and provide an amazing array of hands-on making activities for visitors, this one is truly an event for ALL ages. From sauerkraut powered robots to hands-on soldering, to musical clothing, this is sure to spark the imagination and maker in everyone. 

Be sure to reserve or purchase tickets for yourself, friends and family in advance at www.pghmakerfaire.com.

In addition, October 22nd and 23rd is the opening of MakeShop, a new permanent exhibit at the Museum that will  provide making experiences at the intersection of the physical (sewing, woodworking, etc...) and the digital (electronics, film, video games, etc...).

If you would like to volunteer, please let me know! Volunteers are still welcome for MakerFaire, and we will always welcome those who are interested in more long-term volunteer involvement in MakeShop!

Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire is a family fun festival featuring do-it-yourself robots, mobiles, instruments, electronics, 3D printing, soldering, wool spinning, Christmas lights, alternative energy and much more.  The Faire celebrates the best of DIY creativity through demonstrations, performances and hands-on workshops by over 70 makers. YOU will make, create, learn, invent, craft, recycle, build, think, play and be inspired!  This is the first Mini Maker Faire hosted in the region and is a co-presentation of the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and HackPittsburgh.
