hey everybody!
we're having a DIY bio meeting at the Center for PostNatural History (curious what either of these things are?  you should come!)

deets below:
la

***** Pittsburgh Do-It-Yourself Biology (DIYbio) *****

Do you have an interest in biology?
Do you read the Science Section like it's entertainment?
Do you enjoy hands-on projects?
Do you consider yourself bio-curious?
Do you work in a lab, but like thinking about the bigger picture?
Do you keep a garden?
Have you ever brewed beer?
Have you ever identified a gene?
Have you ever marveled at the fantastic strangeness of a dog?
Are you handy with a microscope?

If you answered YES to ANY of these, you should join us Monday September 26th!
If you answered YES to ALL of these, you should probably stay at home since you will only intimidate the rest of us… (just kidding, we'll be needing you)

Pittsburgh welcomes the first informal gathering of Pittsburgh DIY-Bio (Do-It-Yourself).
There will be no agenda other than what you bring, so come with questions to ask and hopefully ideas to share.
We will just be casually talking about the possibilities, problems, practicalities and ethics of working with living things. We will be looking for a few projects we might like to begin that involve hobby-level biology: DNA isolation, gene identification, cell culture, building cheap microscopes, glowing bacteria, etc
There will be some beer on hand and we hope to find enough chairs to go around.

The Center for PostNatural History has offered the use of their space for this first meeting.

 Monday, September 26th, 8PM
