For me, it is very important not only to have a database of parameters for complex non-linear material models, but also to understand their physical significance, know their scope of application, and analyse the implications for the model being created. That is why I have created a new section called MaterialMAP, and you certainly won’t find anything like this in the standard documentation or in any other material database. I am confident that not every specialist training course will provide you with this knowledge.

So, MaterialMAP now includes a ‘Solid mechanics laws’ section https://materialmap.net/laws/, providing academic information on all the analytical laws implemented in LS-DYNA material models. Incidentally, there are 128 of them across 16 different categories. All include references, explanations of symbols, precise formulas and dimensioned parameter values. If a law has a corresponding set of parameters directly in the database, a cross-reference is also provided.

By the way, information about the laws used is now automatically added to the material report.

What do you think of this feature? If you like it, please feel free to tell your colleagues, share the post, and register for a MaterialMAP account.
