Hello respected seniors,

I am doing a PhD, I want to work on foam mechanics. I will be doing experimental and simulation work. I have only two years to finish my research to become a graduate. How can I work on LS-DYNA2 to get a strong grip on it? Your guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Best regards,
Jameel

Dear Jameel,

Perhaps of some help:

Dear Jameel,

See if this is of some interest:

Modeling energy absorbing foams that restore back to their original shape san be extremely challenging,

especially when the foam is crushed over 90%. However, the foam used in SAFER racetrack barrier

does indeed nearly return to its’ original shape after severe crushing. The desire to model this behavior

led to the use of the Fu Chang foam model available in LS-DYNA.

What loading speeds?

What specific tasks are we talking about?

I use models from the polyumod library.

What types of foams are you writing about?
hyperelastic or crushable?
