Dear readers,

I am writing to request your assistance with TNT Explosions in a container filled with water using the ALE method for deformation of the sheet (Explosion sheet metal forming process). As I am currently a beginner in this area, I require guidance on how to perform the necessary simulations for this project.

Could you please provide any resources or advice to help me get started?

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,

Thirupathi Nadimetla

Dear  Thirupathi,

Blast analysis combined with forming might not be a good starting point since it is a highly-advanced process to simulate. Setting this subject as the ultimate target, you should expand your knowledge starting from the basics.

You can use dynaexamples.com for introductory examples. For the basic terminology, check dynasupport.com. After basics, dive into Lagrangian vs. ALE methodologies. Lagrangian method is for sheet metal forming. and ALE is for the explosive process. There is a presentation titled "Overview of ALE Method in LS-DYNA here: https://ftp.lstc.com/anonymous/outgoing/support/FAQ_docs/ale_overview_short2.pdf. Also, you can check the similar studies shared in dynalook.com

I suggest you to check the related DYNAmore Express video content on YouTube. To learn the LS-DYNA keywords and specific parameters in the keyword deck, always use the LS-DYNA manuals.

Best,

—Emin
