to LS-DYNA2
Dear all,
I am defining *SECTION_BEAM with ELFORM = 6 and SCOOR = +12 to model my finite-length discrete element. The material I used to define the discrete element is *MAT_196 with Type = 0 behavior, and I have six FLCIDs for six degrees of freedom. My model converges for SCOOR = +2; however, SCOOR = +12, which is an improved version of +2 with better rigid-body rotation representation, shows the error “Nonlinear solver failed to find equilibrium” after the very first time step.
I have also checked that the divide-by-zero error associated with SECTION_BEAM (ELFORM = 6, SCOOR = ±12) is not present in my version of LS-DYNA (Version: smp d R10.0.0), as per the manual. I am performing an implicit analysis with displacement-controlled loading. Could you please suggest what I might be missing or if there is anything I should be aware of that could be causing this issue?
