Help Needed: Implicit to Explicit Transition for Steel Column Simulation

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well.

I am working on a steel column simulation under cyclic loading. The analysis was initially run using an implicit solver, and it progressed until the first failure strain was reached, at which point the solution stopped.

At this stage, I would like to continue the remaining response using an explicit approach in order to properly capture the failure behavior and plastic hinge formation.

I currently have:

• A d3dump file from the implicit phase
• A modified K-file prepared for the explicit continuation

I would really appreciate your advice or experience regarding this type of implicit-to-explicit transition, especially for capturing failure and plasticity in such problems.
