hi everyone,
i am new in ls dyna and i am trying to simulate RC column subjected to impact load. i develop my model but i cant define the axial load in column. please help mi to define axial load in RC column

The simplest methods is to apply the axial load via *LOAD_NODE or *LOAD_SEGMENT as a ramp in time and allow some time for the loading to approach equilibrium before the impact.

 

Have a look at the keyword *CONTROL_DYNAMIC_RELAXATION. This will allow you to apply a preload before the impact with a convergence criterion.
