Landy Greetings
I would like to share an interesting point to all you Landy Lovers like me out there.
You may have seen my recent post on my 110 V8 slight overheating and power issues.
Well I thought I would start with the Radiator although I believed it was clean I had chemically flushed it twice.
Guys I was wrong .The Silverton Radiator rep phoned me saying the cores are so blocked up they have to recore.
A lesson to be learnt ---Never assume all is well.
Have a great day
Landy Regards

I agree with Jaco.
The radiator on my '74 Jensen Interceptor was 70 % blocked. They "rodded" it and now it keeps the 7.2L V8 nice and cool even in this heat! I dont buy the recore story.
Best Regards
Philip

Afternoon LanceI took note of what that rep told you but if you used the right antifreeze all the time there is no way a radiator can block in such a way that it need to be recored. I see it daily. The only thing that can block a radiator like that is radiator stop leak which I see often with the Moz customers. Even my customers working in the timber industry and using water from streams and other sources, the blockages can be opened. Your older copper radiators like yours tend to where from the inside if antifreeze is not used.RegardsJaco

Thanks for that Jaco.I hope to pick up the newly recored radiator today then I WANT TO SEE WHAT BLOCKED THE OLD CORE MYSELF.
Just got a phone call from the manager at Silverton Radiators apologising for everything saying there was a communication error, my radiator was blocked but fully opened and cleaned the new core will be sent back and they will sort out the payments, thanks Jaco your message spurred me on to take action and it paid off.
Hopingly my cooling system will be back to normal
Landy Regards
Lance

I am currently in a battle with Silverton radiators(centurion), I took a radiator to them 3 times, they insisted that it was ok. I took it there with small leak at the cap, got it back with two additional leaks, which only showed when the unit was fitted and heated up. Not in their pressure bath. Short of the story, on the way there to go show them, the headgaskets went. This is a high performance unit thus no margin for error was zero – now I know -, as with a trusty old landy! I was warned about them……
My 50 cents worth.
