Jaco,

I can see that this issue is close to your heart and that you are spending a lot of time on it.

Why don’t you start a spreadsheet in which you list detail like vehicle age, kilo’s, chipped or not, towing, 1st or 2nd owner, etc.  Maybe we can learn something from it.

Every issue has three sides to it – my side, your side and the truth.  At the moment we are only getting one side of the story and to be honest to you, I get little value from that.

Best luck.

Groete

Nicely put thank you Jakob.

On this subject, a friend of mine in the police force told me that they are busy installing some very fancy vehicle monitors, something like an aircraft’s black box, just on a smaller scale. It can monitor every vehicle parameter, even including if the driver did not stop at a stop street. It is downloadable on a database as can be used as evidence of vehicle abuse and misbehaving drivers.   The police station around the corner of us has had this sytem installed on all their vehicles.

So, as far as your three sides to a story is concerned,  this police station has seen a miraculous improvement of vehicle serviceability that has resulted in a dramatic improvement in response time and service. Although there are always exceptions to the rule, the point is, vehicles don’t just break – there is always the third reason.

Groete,

Andre.

My son’s employer monitor their vehicles in such a way that a driver gets a call when he/she exceeds the speed limit and they also book the vehicles services to make sure that the employees doesn’t abuse the vehicles. Big brother is on watch like in 24/7!

Regards

Attie
