Dear environmental movers and shakers,

Please let me know if you and/or one of staff are interested in
joining our training and activity, and become part of the KLRB Waste
Audit team. Feel free to call or email me with questions. We aim to
develop a cadre of trained volunteers who can provide free waste
audits to organizations that want to recycle.

Thanks to Tim Heiple donating the use of his parking lot next to
Flying Saucer, and the support of Robert Hunter at DEQ, Carol Bevis of
Pulaski County Solid Waste Authority, and so many others, we have
successfully rescheduled our waste audit. We need about 8 volunteers
to help us do the audit. The good news is that Gusano's and Flying
Saucer will separate and bag all their waste for us from Saturday's
business, and store it outside in their cyclone fence area for
cardboard.

This means will not be dumpster diving. And, we will not need to go
through any food waste. We will be weighing it inside of sealed bags,
then tossing it into the dumpster. We will sort plastics (without food
on them), cans and bottles, though and weigh it. This should be a fun
activity.

Once the waste audit is done on this Monday, Kendrick Ketchum will
start the cardboard recycling program within a week.

Thanks,

Ron
