Hi,

My application is a .NET thick client (.NET 4.0) which uses .NET remoting and WCF to communicate to the server. I have LR 9.52 license. I tried recording with .NET, RDP, COM/DCOM protocols. The requests are not generated in VuGen. I would like to keep Winsocket as the last option. Any suggestions are welcome.

Any help/insights into this is appreciated.

Thanks,
Deepa

See advanced options in the LoadRunner manual for creation of virtual users in Visual Studio using the source for your application

Thanks James. The customer is not ready to share the API libraries/source code. Can VSTS tool be used to record this app? Any other suggestions are welcome.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Deepa

Please do not use [reply all] to group messages.   Using [reply] is sufficient as (architecturally) the reply to header field of group messages direct messages back to the group.

As to VSTS please consult a forum dedicated to Microsoft VSTS for that solution.

If your customer will not provide support for a path to a solution then I would bolt since the value they get out of performance testing (as a service) will be NIL.  Or you could completely retrench and take a performance engineering approach looking at the data flows and outputs of the system for bottlenecks on a system.

Hi,

You can use UI automation framework available in .net 4, which is compatible with loadrunner 11.
I have used same thing for smart client performance testing.
Do you want to test at API or UI level?

Regards
Shankar
