Hi All,

I need to do performance testing of pega prpc application. This
application has a Single sign on (SSO) authentication. The link ofr
this application is given on some other department's portal. When you
click on that, this application opens in a net new window. The webpage
appears on the basis of SSO done on other portal using SAML tokens.
Now there is a direct link for the application too. But if we record
it using this direct link, we cannot capture time taken from SSO SAML
tokens to application page. But we also do not want to record scripts
from other portal. Can someone please suggest a workaround as to how
to generate load on application without recordin gform other portal
and also generating SAML tokens in loadrunner.

Regards,
A

Hi,

I think First u need to know the application protocol.
use protocol advisor and find the same.

Hi Taran,

But my problem is different! The application that we need to record
has SSO authentication coming from another application. Now we do not
want to do end-to-end testing but only want to inject load on our pega
application and also generate user load with SSO and SAML like
authentication. How do we simulate this using loadrunner?

A

Use lr controller to emulate the load on ur application.

The only way is to disable the SSO in the performance environment and hit the backend url directly. Development team can help in doing this.

Hi,

But I need to simulate SSO+SAML like authentication in my direct
url...is there nay way I can do...the application to be load tested is
SAML service provider and other application is identity provider. Now
I only want to record service provider i.e my application and dont
want to test identity provider, but same time I also want behaviour of
identity provider to appear in my service provider link for recording
the script.

A

Hi

I think u have to handle the authentication request.

There will be few parameters that will change each time, like wrt (containing time details) wct ...  this  generats a token which will be used by subsequent requests . You have to find those parameters and handle it .
