Hello,

I am using VUGen 9.52 and recording a page on FireFox 3.0.7, O/S -Windows XP Professional.
No script is getting recorded or generated after I stop recording.

Can you'll please suggest a solution to fix this.

Note:I want to record in Firefox only.

Refer to "Quick and Dirty Recording Techniques for Web (HTTP/HTML)", if you're using one.

Hi,

I think you should first try to find out whether its LR issue or
system issue or application.
try following:
1. You need to check that while recording if the number of events are
increasing or not, if not then thats an issue with connectivity of
load-runner in between you application and server.
2. Try to record in URL mode with web_custom_request() enabled.(to
check if LR functions are able to recognize response)
3. Try to change capture level in port mapping.
4. Try on some other system.(to ensure its not a system issue)

I hope this will give you some possible cause of issue.

I really don’t care that you only want to record in Firefox.   What you need to determine if this is a system wide issue or something which only impacts your use of Firefox.   For this you need a control factor, a known good element which should work and if it does not then it is a measure of system wide issues that need to be addressed.

That control factor is IE.   And not just any version of IE.   It needs to be a very explicitly supported with your version of LoadRunner. On an operating system which is also explicitly supported with your version of LoadRunner.

Tell us if IE works and how this contrasts to Firefox.   That will tell us a lot about global vs local vs other issues.

You’re a tester, use those core foundation testing and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot this difference between expected and observed behavior.

Hi,
Thanks for responding.
Ans1. While recordinbg the number of events are increasing.
2.I have recorded with URL mode with web_custome_request() enabled.Still script is not generated.
3.I have changed capture levels in port mapping.Tried with all 3 capture levels.Still script is not generated.
4.I cannot try on some other system as I am the only one working on this project.

Check Your DEP settings of your machine and turn off the DEP.

Refer to the DEP settings section of VuGen Help.....

Double fault
(1) swiping someone else's thread rather than creating a new message
(2) double post because you didn't get your answer fast enough

a)      You have missed correlating some session/state/business process/timsstamp elements

b)      You are not including any think time of pacing

c)       You are not checking for expected results from your returned pages and branching code appropriately

d)      You appear to need a mentor to be working with you

Does it work in IE?   Is this a whole machine issue or just a Firefox issue?  Please help to define the scope of the issue you are having….

Hey,

I think  FireFox 3.0.7 will not support by LR tool. For more info go to RTS -> Browser
