Hi Experts,

I want to record creating a folder through command prompt.

I have selected WebHttp/Html and Win32 and gave path C:/system/Win32/cmd.exe. What ever operations done in command prompt are not getting recorded in Vugen.

Can some one help me which protocol to be used for recording the commands in Command Prompt.

Thanks,
Pushpa

These operations are local and not leaving the host across HTTP.  One should not expect that such operations would be captured because they are non-existent within a particular protocol stream.   If you need locally bound operations to be recorded, then consider the operations of a Graphical Virtual User, QTP, to execute your client bound operations.    You may have other options as well depending upon your level of comfort with the language of your virtual user and your ability to manipulate the file system or command shell from your virtual user.

Cultivate your ‘architectural eye.’   An understanding of client and system architecture is key for becoming an efficient performance tester.

Hi Pushpa,

you cannot record the local command prompt, but you can execute commands on local OS through the "System" command in LR vugen.

go to vugen, web(Http/Html) protocol and type System and press F1 , you can get to know about this command, through this command you can execute the mkdir , rmdir , dir and all DOS comands.

Thanks,
Rajasekhar
